Population
Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic is one of the regions of the Republic of Azerbaijan with unique demographic characteristics. As of January 1, 2023, the population of the autonomous republic has reached 465,700 people. 99.6 percent of the population is Azerbaijani. The Russians, Georgians, Kurds, and representatives of other nationalities also live in Nakhchivan. 35.4% of the population resides in urban areas, while 64.6% lives in rural areas.
